Special Arrival at the School- Not just one but two Wempe Chronometerwerke Movements!

Wempe became one of a number of new sponsors to the school earlier in the year and they sent the school two Wempe Manual Wind Chronometerwerke movements (Manufactured by Nomos). It was amazing to be able to see this type of high end movement in the flesh, the quality of workmanship is astounding, from the engraved balance cock to the gold chatons and blued screws this movement oozes class and German quality. More info on the movement and the watches powered by it can be found here:

For me this also served as an inspiration for the watch I will begin to make later in the course, I hope to replicate the high standard of finish and traditional design. Hopefully we will be fortunate enough to get a few more arrivals from Wempe in the future which I can once again share in my blog for all to see.

Anyway, enough of me waxing lyrical about its qualities, take a look at the pictures for yourselves…
